All the Chhath Ghats are ready with offerings for the first arghya. On this day, a special puja is held at the largest Surya Mandir in Northern Bihar. This 45-foot long temple is located on the banks of the Gandaki River in the Saran district. It is believed that all wishes of those who perform Chhath Puja here are fulfilled, drawing devotees from far and wide to participate in the festival.

Construction and Significance of Surya Mandir

The construction of Surya Mandir began in 2013 under the guidance of Sant Shreedhar Das Ji Maharaj. The idol was consecrated on May 28, 2015, with the support of the villagers during the Markandey Mahayagna. Alongside police presence, security measures are taken to ensure the smooth conduct of Chhath Puja. The temple looks magnificent, especially when the Gandaki River flows with water, with Lord Mahadev at Kailash Ashram and Surya Dev in his chariot enchanting devotees.
