The Sharjah Police have intensified their search for a 14-year-old Indian boy Mohammed Perwez, who left his home in Muwaileh district of Sharjah following a tiff with his mother in the wee hours of Thursday.
A Sharjah Police official said that the father of the child filed a missing report at the Industrial Zone police station stating that his son had left their home on Thursday and has gone traceless. The family had looked for him at his friends’ and relatives’ places but in vain.
The official confirmed that after they received the missing complaint, the police launched a search operation for the boy and they are combing mosques, schools, public places, hospitals and shopping malls.
The police patrols were provided with his picture to carry out the search in various residences and commercial areas in the emirate. CCTVs in public places are being monitored and circulars carrying the teenager’s personal information and picture have been distributed to all police stations as well as at all exit points and borders.

The child’s father told the police that at midnight on Wednesday, an argument broke out between Mohammed and his mother. The angry boy went into his room. When the family woke up at 4am the next day, they could not find him anywhere in the house let alone his room, his father added.
He also told the police that he found out later that Mohammed took his parked bicycle in the yard and left his mobile phone on the bed in his room.
Police urged the public and community members to call 911 in case they spot the missing boy anywhere in the country to be able to help him reunite him with his family.
